Viking kori kincsekre bukkant fémkeresővel egy egyetemista Dániában – számolt be róla a Heritage Daily. A Moesgaard Múzeum beszámolója szerint Gustav Bruunsgaard a leleteket egy Ølsted nevű település melletti mezőn találta meg.
A férfi összesen 7 tárgyat ásott elő, mindegyik ezüstből készül karperec volt, amelyek Kirsztus után 800 körülre datálhatók.
A szakértők úgy vélik, hogy az ékszerek többségét Skandinávia déli részén készíthették, az egyik viszont máshonnan, a mai Oroszország vagy Ukrajna területéről származhat.

A karperecek közül hármon egy X-re hasonlító rúnát nyomtak, amely a bőkezűség, illetve az ajándékozás szimbóluma lehetett. A régészek nem biztosak benne, hogy ki és miért áshatta el az ingóságokat, de valószínűleg az lehetett a tulajdonos oka, hogy biztonságban akarta tudni értékeit.
