Zobi gets £1M for Hedgehog that keeps Wi-Fi networks safe from intruders

As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, the need for cybersecurity is at an all-time high. Smart devices have increased our ability to connect to the Internet, making our lives easier and efficient.

However, it comes with trade-offs, as it exposes us to significant risks because personal information can be stolen or misused, causing a myriad of problems for the owners.

This is where London-based Zobi comes in. With cybercrime on the rise, the UK startup works to develop products to provide whole-home protection against the malicious digital activity.

Raised £1M

Recently, the tech startup has raised $1.5 million (approx £1 million) in a funding round led by Worth Capital with Loyal VC and supplemented through a blend of angel funding and a hugely successful Seedrs campaign. The funds will be used to bring Hedgehog and Zobi Home Intelligence to the market.

Detects and prevents cybercrime

Founded by Scott Lever, Zobi’s first product, Hedgehog, detects and prevents cybercrime and suspicious activity across multiple devices in the entire home network.

Importantly, it is compatible with existing tech and alongside a household’s existing broadband router, firewalls, anti-virus software, and other home security products.

The company will be launching a suite of software products over the coming months, ahead of the expected launch of Hedgehog in the second half of 2021.

Zobi Founder, Scott Lever, comments: “I am thrilled not only to close a successful $1.5m fundraise but to share our journey and vision with over 900 investors, many who came through crowdfunding platform Seedrs. Having the backing and mentorship in the guise of Worth Capital, Loyal VC and our advisors puts us in a strong position for hypergrowth”

Kamal Hassan Partner at Loyal VC comments: “Zobi’s ability to conceive, quickly sell and deliver a simple home security solution, while overcoming numerous obstacles, impressed the Loyal team during our extended due diligence and led to our investment.”
