This is how taxation will change from today

A new online era begins today, with the tax office already seeing all the bills. After the expiration of the immunity until March 31, NAV will continue to act fairly, in cooperation with the taxpayer, Izer Norbert informed.

The National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) from 1 April

RECEIVE ALL ACCOUNT DETAILS IMMEDIATELY, ONLINE,

and through the incoming data, it helps businesses with several services that are also unique in the European Union, added the Secretary of State for Taxation of the Ministry of Finance.

Not only will the new services of the tax office, such as paperless invoicing or the recommendation of draft VAT returns,  help fair businesses, but also the elimination of fraudulent taxpayers, the Secretary of State stressed. As you said:

THE COMPLETION OF ONLINE INVOICING IS THE MOST FAR-REACHING STEP IN THE FIGHT AGAINST THE BLACK ECONOMY.

There are four billion account and receipt data available to risk analysts each year, so it’s no longer worth trying to avoid tax evasion, as the tax office immediately detects this through its online tools.

Data protection is one of the most important elements of online invoicing, the Secretary of State said. This is especially important from today, since

INVOICES ISSUED TO THE PUBLIC FROM 1 APRIL WILL BE FULLY VISIBLE TO THE TAX OFFICE,

but only anonymously, no data about the individual customer is entered into the tax office’s online invoice system.

More conscious businesses

According to Izer Norbert, companies are becoming more and more aware when managing their tax affairs, as evidenced by the experience of the sanction-free period. The vast majority of businesses switched to the new system in the weeks before the deadline.

The Secretary of State said that even after the end of the sanction-free period, NAV will act fairly, considering the circumstances, gravity and frequency of the omission. Those who do not or do not provide the data properly are assisted by the tax office, as all invoice data are required to recommend a draft VAT return.

GOOD AND ACCURATE DATA ARE ESSENTIAL FOR HUNGARY TO BE AMONG THE FIRST IN THE EUROPEAN UNION TO PROVIDE EXEMPLARY TAX OFFICE SERVICES TO BUSINESSES

Izer Norbert underlined. He stated that the aim is not to impose a fine for non-compliance, but to ensure the proper provision of data, and the Ministry of Finance and the tax office are also partners in this.
